Foxborough Awards Night
On the evening of February 10th the eagerly awaited Foxborough awards night took place. We changed up venues this year to the Chester Beatty Inn, Ashford. Our hosts graciously gave us the large room at the back, which was the perfect size for the event. We started at 19:30, with members congratulating, mingling and generally catching up. We took our seats shortly before 8 o’clock, with our very own Ross McGovern introducing this year’s guest speaker, Ellen Regan. Ellen is a dietician specialising in sports and exercise nutrition, and tailored a presentation to the world of equine competition. The talk was full of energy and information; who knew that a jam sandwich an hour before competition was a great way to get you through the round! Finger food of fried chicken goujons and legs, cocktail sausages and chips were served. Luckily Ellen turned a blind eye to our not-so-healthy supper. Onto the awards, with Ross on the PA and Daphne handing out the trophies.
